# TikTok Shop US enforces against unauthorized and unaffiliated return addresses

From 2026-08-05, sellers must use return addresses they own or are authorized to use and that are tied to their business. Sending returns to unauthorized, unaffiliated, residential or unverified addresses is an enforcement issue: shops may be suspended and pending orders canceled. No standard fine is published.

## Our read

Many cross-border sellers list a borrowed US address or whatever a warehouse handed them; now that can cost the whole shop. If a warehouse takes your returns, get written authorization and a service contract, and make sure the address in Seller Center matches where it actually receives parcels.

## Who is affected

- US sellers setting their own return address need to establish their right to use it and its connection to their business. Finding an address on a map is not proof of compliance.
- Sellers using a returns warehouse or service should verify authorization for the exact address and its receiving arrangements, rather than copying another shop’s address.
- Sellers already using a genuine, authorized, business-related return location are not required by this notice alone to change warehouses. Residential or unverified addresses remain within the notice’s enforcement scope.

## What to do

- Confirm every return-address field with your warehouse, including unit, recipient and postal code, and verify that it actually accepts your parcels.
- Keep address authorization, the service agreement and receiving records together. Update Seller Center when changing warehouses or ending a service arrangement.
- If an address violation is issued, check the cited location and orders. Where you believe it is incorrect, use the appeal route in the notice and submit the supporting evidence.
